Welcome to House of Marz, I am Laura!
With over 19 years of experience working ‘Front of House’ in restaurants, cafes and pubs from Newcastle, NSW to Mount Tambourine QLD, plus 7 years of experience working as a Travel Agent, the Hospitality and tourism sector is the industry I feel most at home in.
Over the past 7 years, having a family has kept me grounded on home soil, but it has also been the catalyst for the rekindling of my passion for an old hobby I used to love - photography.
I was 14 when I picked up my first SLR (film) camera, but it was in fact on a school excursion to Italy back in 2001 that I really fell in love with photography (read more on that HERE).
I would never have guessed that all these years later, I would end up back behind the lens, not only doing something that I love for a job but taking photos of the industries that I’m so passionate about, and that ultimately led me here.

my approach
My ethos is all about delivering images that resonate with the soul of your business. Each gallery a visual essay of your project.
My style is relaxed, yet considered, with a strong focus on using natural light as my main light source. This gives my images a feeling that I believe, cannot be replicated with artificial light. I am drawn to photographs that don’t look overly staged and tend towards documenting what’s available to me in the moment.
This authentic approach extends to my editing, where I aim to keep my editing style as realistic as possible so that my client’s brand aesthetic is maintained. This is especially the case when shooting food. I like to keep food shots as true to colour as possible.
